To quote VMWare&#039;s doco again:

After you complete initial setup of your host machine, you can install the software
needed to manage ESX Server 3i. For your first evaluation experience, you will install
the VI Client to manage a single host.

So, at the least, it would seem that the hypervisor won&#039;t expire, and you&#039;re not REALLY forced to use VirtualCenter -- if you want to run/manage a single host.

For a single, physical server, this seems like something nice, without any 60 day threats and whatnot...</description>
